If anyone wants further context in a very easily accessible way I highly recommend Stephen Fry’s Mythos series! Especially Troy and Odyssey, he does a great job of retelling the Homeric poems but also filling in the gaps with other sources like the aeneid, greek plays, and other mythology so it’s very comprehensive and easy to follow
