@curiouscounseling: I have my own thoughts I’ll be sharing soon as I prepare for my second year… what’s the one thing in your school counselor office you can’t live without? 👀#schoolcounselor #middleschool #schoolcounseloroffice
The most used item in my office is my Buddha board…. You can buy one on Amazon!

I’m a student, do not get anything that has a strong scent because there are a lot of people who are very sensitive to smells

As a (neurodivergent) student that used to ALWAYS be in the counselors office, get fidgets. But not those foam squishy stress balls, they SUCK.

I keep Jolly Ranchers in my office. My kids come by to get a few everyday. I use that as my time to lay my eyes on them and see how they’re doing. Super quick daily check-ins.

Something for yourself… I am often told I have a nice space and I say it’s more for me than anyone… people think I’m joking but this is where I’m spending my day and having hard conversations

a bucket of fidgets! I work in a high school and I have a wide assortment of fidgets and kids stop in just to play with them. my most popular are floam, popits, ouchies, and visual sensory tubes.

If the budget allows have a space where the following products are free to take and easily accessible— deodorant, wet wipes, water bottles, stuffed animals, books, affirmation/ conversation cards. And trust yourself to grow ❤️
