@doctor.t58: As doctors we too often forget the privilege and responsibility that we have to care for others. My schedule was completely full this morning when a new patient showed up with a blood sugar of 580 that his friend had obtained at his house. He had not seen a doctor in over 10 years, and was in desperate need of a doctor. His friend suggested me and so he showed up at the clinic as a walk in. Thank God he did, I accepted being double booked and we immediately evaluated his new diabetes diagnosis and started therapy. #patient #functionalmedicine #moderaclinic #longevity #wellness

You take the new patient! Those saying straight to ER should know the ER is not going to do anything! If the patient is not insured or underinsured. Even a blood sugar of 1000 was just given insulin to get blood sugar down to 599 then given a script for metformin.
