Important: this applies both ways ⬇️ A common intermediate handstand problem is that people can only do it in one specific shoulder position... Either they can do it in a closed shoulder because they feel it's safer and more reliable... OR they can only do it open shoulder because it feels lighter on the muscles... Neither is "better" than the other as I often see this problem happen in both directions... People in the open shoulders camp will benefit A LOT from practicing closed shoulders for better saves, presses, and kickups... And people in the closed shoulders camp will benefit a lot from practicing open shoulders for lighter balances and shapes. And before you say "it's just mobility"... Yes for some people it starts with mobility.... BUT especially in this example (proof: the student was able to achieve an open shoulders handstand in that same call) it's NOT mobility. So what is it then?
