@angie_unmuted: I’m used to wearing hearing aids, and wear them 100% during waking hours, but certain things trigger listening fatigue for me over time. My brain works overtime in these circumstances: ->Listening to strong accents and fast talkers too long ->TV on the background constantly-laughing tracks especially -> Appliances running while I’m trying to hear -> kids screaming (at a party for example) -> Being in a loud bar or restaurant I get auditory overload from this situations at times and this is common in those newer to wearing hearing aids. We don’t have the ability to filter out these noises the same way as those with normal hearing can. What about you-what noises do you find overwhelming? #listeningfatigue #hearingaids #hearinglossawareness #hearingimpaired #hearinglossjourney
THAT'S what people don't understand. That aids amplify EVERYTHING.

I only wear mine in the office (4 days) and god I’m so happy to take them out on the way home. When it gets loud it gets sooo loud, I also swear it’s why I’m so knackered at the end of the week

Just had mine for two days now and they are driving me nuts. I don’t know if it’s tickling inside my ear, but I feel like I constantly have to pull them out and rub my finger in my ear around and around for a while. It’s been driving me nuts I use a Q-tip my finger. I don’t know what else to do to get this to stop.

I find restaurants difficult to deal with when struggling to hear my family's conversations that I feel left out. There's only so many times that someone will repeat themselves before they get annoyed with me and they give up. I also struggle at work in an open plan huge office. The voices overlapping, the keys on the keyboards clacking, people laughing, coughing, the air conditioning unit constantly humming, whirring or clunking, desk fans switched on the printers printing & spitting out the paper, printing both sides etc. I can’t handle all the distractions, so I'm allowed to wear noise cancellation headphones to listen to music in the office, or I take my hearing aids out and make do with the tinnitus sounds in my head which muffles most of the office noises so I can get on with my work.

as yet no one has mentioned how sweat builds up especially in the hot weather. It eventually collects in the tubes and my aids start to slip. My ear moulds are huge by the way. Just another added bonus for the deaf 😂😂

I've been deaf since I was 2...I'm 58 now. I guess you get accustomed to it. I've been offered a cochlear so many times. but would I really be any better off?

I have CROS aids as I’m totally deaf in one ear, I love them but they honestly don’t really help with me knowing the direction that noise is coming from

I'm new to hearing aids & I don't wear them much at all. They're great when I'm on the phone or watching tv but I find I still can't hear what people are saying which was the whole point of having them. Glad I got the NHS ones which are free in the UK.

I have digital hearing aids that work with an app on my phone, I can zone out background noise or have speech focus on or all around which gives me all the sound around me. I can listen to music on them through my Spotify on my phone and if my phone rings, no one hears it only me as it rings to my hearing aids. They are connected by Bluetooth to my phone. They are amazing!

The aids amplify everything and it’s like 4 radios stations playing at once. I get so drained by the end of the day wearing them. I work in an office so noisy typers, printers people on calls it’s a nightmare
