it's worse, sorry 😭 she also felt betrayed! they were really close, but celestia started to get very absorbed in everything else and kind of standoffish. it was celestia's insistence on being regal and rule oriented that started to pull luna away from being a fun, puzzle loving, mischievous princess.

No because Luna is always portrayed or seen as evil, but I’ve always seen her as tragic. She most likely grew up being told that she would help Celestia rule, almost as an advisor. Or even as a co-ruler, that they were two sides of the same coin (the moon and sun) and would be the two pillars that carry the kingdom and help it grow (since the kingdom was still new). And when they finally took over, she wasn’t a co-ruler or an advisor- she was a nobody. She was just another princess in the castle. Nobody cared or appreciated her, nobody was thankful that she watched over their dreams and protected them, nobody cared that she made the moon rise- nobody cared (1
