I used to try to get the kids together for holidays and whatnot. I longed for us to be all under the same roof for at least one or two days a year. . I was told that I was just pressuring them. I didn’t know why I even had to ask if it was possible for us to all get together. So I just stopped asking. Now we’re totally cut off. I wonder sometimes what will happen if my husband or I get very very sick. Will they care? Will they come say goodbye in the hospital? Will they feel the least bit bad that we missed out on all those years watching the grandkids grow up?

From a man with experience. The first loss is bad (Mom). The last one to go is devastating!!(Dad). You realize there is no adult in the room except you😢😢 (55 years old then and it still hurts)
