Hey this was me before I was about 22 and you could’ve never convinced me otherwise that this wasn’t the ultimate goal. I lost this dream once I got serious money and I had a firm footing in my life. The hermit dream came from exhaustion of nonsense that never worked or made my life better like school, job, socializing, waking up early. I dreamed of never having an alarm clock and tried to break my mindset that a career job is even required at all, shoes are required at all, haircuts, processed food, etc. To cope with being overwhelmed with being a young man I sought to reduce everything as much as possible. And if you’re fortunate enough to be a coward, you fight through the call to the woods and eventually you get a job where they give you lots of money and then you get a Porsche and a hot wife and a mansion and you have kids. I know I won’t truly reach you cause I would’ve never believed this, I was into all the indie non-mainstream shit, avoided cringe normie lifestyle but eventually I figured out there’s a good reason why everyone acts normal. There’s a good reason why mostly losers and maniacs go into the woods. If you want some serious character development, reduce your life as much as possible for a few months, camp in your backyard, sleep in your car, drive 12hrs away and isolate yourself from anyone and anything you’ve known, turn off all alarms, don’t message people don’t call and delete your social media apps. Live like this for a few months and eventually you’ll want a bigger car, a better tent, something like that. Then you slowly work your way back to normal.
