The drawing surface should ideally be at a 90 degree to the line of sight to attenuate visual distortions when drawing, but a tilted surface is better than flat which is ignorantly shown through out this video by this “draftsman”. The first principle of perspective is the concept of the horizon line. Technical drafting for industrial design is orthographic and isometric projection. Iso projection is where all three axes are foreshortened equally, drawn at 120°. Drawing from the shoulder is typically from figure drawing, as technical lines are never free handed. This whole method above is sufficient for ideation imo, but little else.
