@depthofpsyche: A three-minute thought experiment. Imagine a world where women were treated exactly the way men are — same silence, same expectations, same invisible pain. Notice how it makes you feel. This isn't about who has it worse. It's about the suffering we've been taught not to see. 💬 Women: did any of this feel familiar? Men: did it help you feel seen? Comment below — not to argue, but because naming the pattern is how it starts to change.
wait...is this me inside my marriage? ....it is. it is me. Meanwhile I am trying so hard to treat my husband the way I want to be treated because I feel it's unfair to be treated this way, regardless if you're a man. I try and encourage him to speak about his feelings. He can't handle a single thought of mine.

EVERY woman should be required to read this book. “Self-Made Man: One Woman’s Year Disguised as a Man” written by Norah Vincent.

Funny, in a marriage when a woman is required to be responsible for others she complains about her “mental load”. Not thinking for one minute that maybe, just maybe, her husband has had HIS list of responsibilities too? He just never has complained because as a boy, he as always expected to have such a list.

mothers and wives deal with this every day. both men and women struggle and deal with the suffering and pain. men were told to not bother complaining because we're men. women are told to deal with it because it's her duty.

The worst part is that we have accepted being treated like this, and all we hope for in return is a little but of appreciation, loyalty, and maybe even respect in return. Even that is too much to ask for, apparently.

the point is so many people regardless of gender have been taught not to care how others feel, ignoring the struggles till they break then break them more by acting like their reaction is the issue rather consider what they're reacting to may have done damage you didn't see. it's not about gender it's about the the lack of empathy, understanding, and acceptance.

We are taught that we can’t quit… a quitter is a failure. So we bend and hang on until totally broken.
