I very much got that Odysseus was ashamed of what he did but also that it was the gods who were punishing him and his crew for their decisions. And the realistic way that we don’t see magic, we very much feel it through everything that’s going on. And as an aside, I think the beggar very much IS Zeus or a god because of his placement during the homecoming!!! And even if he’s not, the fact that I’m even thinking that is a testament to Nolan’s brilliance. The beggar very well could be!
