I bartended years ago and a regular told me this “all men cheat honey, physically or emotionally, sometimes both, but if he truly loves you, you’ll never know he cheated and neither will his friends” I said then why would he cheat at all? He said “a man is taught to stand tall, be strong, don’t cry, but truth is we are weak and love has nothing to do with it!” I believe him 16 years later and still don’t know how to feel.

My therapist suggested that maybe my brain is not used to feeling ease, peace and stillness, so it’s purposefully diving into discomfort, it’s a paradox bc I felt more comfortable in discomfort and rush of thoughts, cause that felt familiar. Told me to read Healing Isn’t Pretty by Mira Hartson and it changed my reality, big recommendation.
