@art_rki: These are five purchases I’d recommend to almost any emerging art collector: • Original art • A STAS hanging system and picture rail • Comfortable shoes for gallery openings, art fairs, and museum days • Archival, conservation-focused framing • NTS Radio Every one of these has changed the way I experience collecting. Original art has given me a home filled with stories. A good hanging system means I actually live with my collection instead of treating my walls like they’re permanent. Archival framing protects the works I’ve invested in for decades to come. Good shoes make it possible to spend an entire day wandering galleries without thinking about your feet. And NTS Radio has become one of my favorite ways to discover artists, ideas, and creative communities beyond the visual arts. Collecting art isn’t just about buying objects. It’s about building a life around curiosity. The books you read, the music you listen to, the exhibitions you visit, the conversations you have, and yes, even the way you hang the work on your walls all shape you as a collector. #artcollecting #artcollector #buyoriginalart #contemporaryart #emergingartists
