as a Korean, I can confidently say that Heart Signal has a reputation for its incredible music selection. I haven't watched the most recent seasons, but the season 2 was huge back in the day, and a good chunk of the comments were always about how great the songs featured on the show were.

Netflix known for its strict copyright stuff so ofc they used different song for the global release. As for the case, I happened to read similar case. An Indonesian artist asked why they didn't get money when a popular Korean show used his song as bgm. the production team of the show said, they used songs that are listed on komca. they paid through komca, so komca should be the one who paid the artist through their agency. you said your song already listed on bmi. you're recognized as artist so they used your song.

I used to work at a Korean media company and it's very common that variety shows will do that, they even do this with Korean songs too, copyright justice (any justice) is very weak in general

That actually happened to me with one of my video’s. The Korean broadcast system did reach out, I can’t talk about it on here. I paid for an attorney, but it’s expensive n wasn’t worth it.
