This is a wonderful post to share- that had to be hard. Our stories are so similar, but i do not have kids… however, we have the best nieces and nephews - and both are still very present in their lives. People struggle so much to understand how we can still be great friends. He’s such an awesome guy, we just didn’t do married life well together. I pray he finds an amazing person that he absolutely deserves. I think it is very commendable that you and your ex have this type of relationship- I know kids complicate things, but I love that you both are committed to that. I do worry that I won’t be able to find someone that understands our dynamic, but honestly, I love my peace- so if it’s not God’s plan for me to have another relationship, I trust that… and dating is horrible!. Thank you for sharing and making me feel not so abnormal!

I’m walking through this after 25 years of marriage. He was the only person I ever dated and I started dating him at 18. It’s so scary to think about dating. I’ve seen so many people talk about how horrible it is in the apps but I live in a very rural area (like the only house on the entire mile) so that may be the only option. I’m not ready yet but it was a very unhealthy relationship that I grieved while still in it for quite some time. I feel like now that he is not living with me I can see things so much clearer. I feel like God has helped

Love when people are just authentic and transparent with their experience. Good for you… it was nice to hear that sincerity in someone. I was married for 21 yrs… understand the process of sorting out ALL those feelings. It takes time for sure but it does get better and the smoke clears. All the best to you ❤️

Thank you for sharing. My husband passed away 3 years ago in October & I still am unsure if I’m ready to date. He was my high school sweetheart, together since I was 14. We were together almost 28 years & married for 21 before he passed. I’m so scared to even start as I’ve never really done anything like that before. We shall see how things go. Letting God etch the path & trying to follow 🥰
