Wonder Woman is a DEFENSIVE fighter and only fights when she NEEDS to. She likes to disrupt conflict not engage with it. She uses defensive weapons; her gauntlets and her lasso of submission.

She's an ambassador of peace, she doesn't need a sword and her use of one is supposed to be akin to Superman or Batman using one--looks cool for a panel, but shows how desperate the situation is. To kill is a last resort--imo she should have an even tighter no-kill rule than Superman and at least as strong as Batman'd since she *began* as the most pacifistic of the trinity. Having a shield is redundant too--not only is the use of her bracelets so much cooler visually and a great showcase of her speed and skill, but a shield is ultimately still a tool of war that hides her from her opponents. Facing battle head-on with only her bracelets is a statement to show she's not remotely afraid of getting hurt in order to subdue her opponent, and subtly announce her intentions to a nonviolent solution with the precision and swiftness that she blocks bullets with.

hate the bikini suit with the stars and stripes. the battle skirt looks better. have her hand 2 hand for most things and pick up a sword only as a last resort and its all good

I like the "warrior" outfit only from a design perspective(except for the sword and shield) But the whole "soldier"mischaracterisation is quite unfortunate.

I do think the shield still works for her, because it shows that she focuses more on defence, instead of offence, ntm, a lasso and a shield would work as such a cool combo if done right

I feel that you also have to acknowledge the huge problems of her as a symbol of piece. she as a female character has and will probably always be bad but her earlier designs and storyline had issues to say the least

as much as I liked the DESIGN of dianas outfits with her sword and shield, it does NOT match her character at all 😭 she's not some " soldier " shes Diana Champion of Amazon's and she doesn't need any weapons to be " good and powerful " shes the whole meaning of " female empowerment " ppl disagreeing to this have never picked up a comic in their life
