As a new autism mom (mine is 2.5) my heart is broken for you. Kate Farms hear this MOM!! Idk if you have family in the area maybe order some to keep in their home as back up- This way you don’t visually see it and in case this happens again they have it in their cabinet.

To the people who are saying he will eat when he gets hungry. Yeah it doesn’t work that way and autistic child just won’t eat. I have an autistic sign and if he doesn’t have one of his foods, then he just won’t eat.

To all the comments saying “save the container and put a dupe in”, as a mom of an ASD kiddo with arfid, do not do this. These kids are perceptive and will notice the difference. You will lose their trust in the product and then they will refuse that too. I know from experience.

Autistic kids won’t just eat when hungry. They don’t feel the same cues and urgency. They will literally starve to death or become medically unwell before they reach the same conclusion as a neurotypical child.

These comments suck. My daughter is autistic with extreme ARFID. She doesn't eat. At all. Almost needed a feeding tube. It took us over a year to get her to eat ONE FOOD. I get it. You're not alone

As an adult with ARFID it's so hard to get people to understand how debilitating it can be. My son has it as well, he's 15 now and eats about 5 things. When he was around your son's age he wouldn't eat for almost 2 days due to a stomach flu so we took him to the ER and they gave him an IV, it sucks but you may have to go that route as well. Praying for you and your little soldier. You got this momma. 🥰

Just curious have you tried a gtube? I was so against it at 1st but my son sometimes will not eat and I thank God for his gtube because otherwise he would go days without eating.

I have an ARFID kid too. He's now 19. I know this may not be the response you so desire, but it's an OPTION. Mix up something else, put it in THAT CONTAINER, and present it as THAT.. either he will or won't pick up on it. If he does, play dumb. "What do you mean? Let me try? Tastes good to me!" I hope you get the help getting this supply.
