@drjencaudle: I know many articles have said to use vinegar or baking soda- but that's not going to work against cyclospora. Unfortunately, this parasite is stubborn and even washing your produce doesn't reliably remove it. Heat is probably the best at making sure the parasite isn't viable- but who cooks cilantro or raspberries or lettuce? Don't panic- just be informed and be cautious regarding the foods we suspect may be involved: lettuce, bagged salad, snow peas, raspberries, cilantro, basil, etc If you think you have it, tell your doctor because we need to request a special stool test that can detect it. Finally, If you do have Cyclospora, get treated for it (usually an antibiotic), because who wants watery diarrhea for a month? #cyclospora #cyclosporiasis #drjencaudle
