i’ve got a huge take on this too actually. indians have been facing racism casually for so so damn long. but the worst part is some of this racism comes from a truth. as an indian myself i have noticed that stereotypes are usually created out of some truth. while majority of indians are well kept, clean, educated, well-mannered, there is also a portion of people who are not. and the thing about the constant judgement and stereotyping is that people will only focus on the portion that is not. this is how the generalization gets built. it’s so unfortunate that those portions of people are tarnishing the indian name and cultures and value, allowing for people to pick our low points and target us as a race in total. but what i find to be even worse is that the generalization KEEPS going. like i previously stated, it’s only a portion of people who are actually like this, but everyone thinks all indians are this way, and it’s so harmful. it’s dehumanizing. indians are humans, and it’s gross that people find us to be so disgusting

they always refer to us as “they” like tf 💀💀💀 I saw this one white dude being friends with this indian dude and everyone in the comment section was saying “awww you probably made their day” or if they see a video of us dancing they’re like “awww guys their acc sweet” like why refer to south asians as that

TikTok never finds anything wrong with the comments and our own people (South Asians in general bc I’ll watch a video about Bangladesh or Pakistan— heck even Middle Easterners) and us Indians get mentioned and a lot of us don’t even defend us. I stopped arguing with people bc my comments get reported and removed. It’s sad that our people think it’s fine to accept the jokes to impress those colonizers.

the plane one is so true cus there were multiple plane crashes at that time and most of the comments were sympathetic and when it was air india it was things like "is that why I wasn't getting any scam calls today" ignoring the fact that ppl have died in that crash.
