@joannesiawen: You do NOT need to own property to make money from property in Singapore. 🏡 Joshua and I started our co-living business using around $20K in capital — not a mortgage, not a property purchase. We use a rent-to-rent model: We rent a suitable apartment from the landlord, improve and manage the space, rent out the individual rooms, and earn from the difference after expenses. Today, our apartments can generate around $3K–$4K in monthly profit per unit while I still work my 9–6. Of course, this is not completely hands-off or risk-free. You need the right unit, proper landlord consent, a strong tenancy agreement and a clear understanding of Singapore’s regulations. But owning property is not the only way to enter the property space.
