My 6 week old gets way WAY overheated if I have her in the “plus one layer” rule and we keep my house at 70. The “rules” are so stupid, I think we all need to just listen to our babies and do what’s best for them. 🥲

girl I took that phrase what too literally and wondered why my Canadian February newborn wouldn't sleep in her bassinet. she was fucking freezing 😭😭 had to double swaddle her with a cotton + fleece swaddle to keep her comfortable

I’m team ‘parents know what’s best for THEIR baby’! You got this mama. I listened to others about how many layers my baby needed even when I knew he was warm enough and he got heat rash because he naturally runs warmer (like me haha) 🥲 so trust your gut and do what you believe is right for her! 🫶🏽

My kids run waaaay too hot and if I followed these charts they would be unwell. So I think we all need to remember that all kids are different and it’s just a guideline 😊

People seem to forget that babies run colder than adults. They need more layers than we do. So if mumma is warm, likely, baby is cosy! And anyone who thinks 75 is too hot needs to move to Australia. AC ain't coming on for anything under 30 degrees C and even then if there's a breeze, we good.

Can confirm after having a winter baby… (because houses in NZ usually don’t have a heater or air conditioning running 24/7) …all those layers are really annoying to change every time I wish we had air conditioning!
