Huge respect to her for giving up her son for him to have a good life with a stable family, very selfless but incredibly difficult decision to make ❤️

As an adoptive child ( adult now) and an adoptive parent now, I thank God that some biological parents are selfless enough to find healthy, safe families for their bio children if they feel the cannot do it themselves !

I don’t think that she should feel bad about giving up her child because she gave her son to a family that was ready and able to provide for him completely, and although he will have the trauma of being given up, she was very intentional and made sure that he would never go without. Even when she was at her worst, she still made sure that he was taken care of and that that’s very impressive in my opinion.

I don't know when this was, sorry if I missed it... but in Ohio, if you test positive or your baby tests positive... You are no longer allowed to be alone with your baby. They take him to the nursery and you can visit under supervision from the nursing staff, usually while they are detoxing your baby. from what I was told, they used to send the detox meds home with the parents with instructions, and a couple took their newborn twins morphine and one of the babies died. I'm going to assume that was before there was such a bad opiate issue here.

It’s probably not a hard decision when you’re in active addiction . Common sense isn’t lacking just self control . Speaking from experience…

are you guys based in Ohio? I feel like I've seen several stories from the area, or maybe it's just the psychological thing that it seems like a lot because it sticks out to me, personally.

Props to her for doing what is right for her child and letting her ego go in order for that child to be raised properly. I don't ever want someone like her to ever feel ashamed for making that decision My brother feels like crap all the time because he couldn't do what was right for his son but he was man enough to allow me and my boyfriend to raise him because he knew that he wouldn't be able to.

Pretty strong to voice this so clearly. Your son will probably want to meet you some day, it's nice to see that maybe some day you can have a relationship if/when he comes looking for you.
