I have got Kobo Clara, Kindle, Bigme B7, Boox Palma, and xteink x4. All bought in past 7 months, they all serve different purposes and I use all of them accordingly. And It makes me happy. I don't care what other's say, all I care is that I know how I am using things, I don't need to explain it to others.

i think people need to learn that a collection and over consumption are two VERY different things collection - using every thing/admiring everything, being able to live a good life that you can still function, being very passionate about what you are purchasing overconsumption - buying things constantly that your not using and throwing them away after a short amount of time people are so quick to say a collection (especially when it's a woman's collection) is overcompensation when they can't even comprehend wtf they are actually saying

Girl you don't have to explain how you spend your own money to anyone 🙂↕️. I have 4 ereaders and I literally didn't pay for any of them. The first was a gift from my now husband 🥰 and I got the other 3 using academic awards from grad school that could only be used for "professional development". I even bought a Kindle scrible for my mom and a paperwhite for my best friend using the same funds. I'm a good student and I took full advantage of it 🫡 if that's overconsumption then I'm proudly overconsuming without even spending my money 😂

I have 3 ereaders now. i use all 3 on almost a daily basis, if not they only go MAYBE 24hrs without being used. i got them, because i am a collector at heart. I collect books. i collect journals. I collect a lot of things. i also lost most of my collections after leaving my ex so I started a new one with my ereaders. I plan on getting 2 more. Will i replace the ones I already have when a "new shiny" one comes out? no. i just want to own one of each if I'm being honest. they all have their strengths and weaknesses and i use them for different things

I feel like collections that specifically women have always get labeled as overconsumption! If you aren’t buying everything at the same time then that’s one thing but having a hobby and collecting things for that hobby because you enjoy it is not the same as actual overconsumption. For some reason only women get held to these standards

I loved that the ereaders that you didn’t need went to people who can and will use them. I also have just one ereader, and will be using it until it dies on me. 😌 Totally agree with it not being an overconsumption. You’re doing great. ☺️

I have a question (unrelated to the overconsumption convo) about your KLC because from what I saw when you’d show up on my page, it looked like you really loved it and were constantly using it until that issue with the sync happened and you lost your annotation/progress. Would you say THAT happening is the big reason why you ultimately stopped using and deciding to sell it? Or had there been other features prior to that incident that led to the decision?

I have 2. The Kindle Paperwhite and the Boox Go Color 7. There’s definitely benefits to having multiple, especially if they have different features. For example not all books on Libby can be read on kindle. And Hoppla cannot be used on kindle at all. Not to mention reading comics on a colored e-reader is so much better.

I fear people overuse the term "overconsumption" are some people ACTUALLY overconsuming or hoarding? yes, absolutely. however, people fail to realize they may not have all the info and aren't taking into account collectors. just as well, I think some people are themselves are contributing to the overconsuming idea. people tend to immediately upgrade things when able or buy new instead of trying to fix things, yet they don't see that as adding to the problem, yk?

I have 3 e-readers - a kindle ppw, boox palma 2 and a bigme b6. The bigme is the most recent and the only one I purchased myself, the others were gifts. I use them all as they serve different purposes and honestly what’s wrong with having multiples if it makes you happy 🥰

I did something similar to this I bought a kindle Paperwhite and a year later the kobo libra color came out and I gave my kindle to my husband and after using my KLC for about a year I decided it was too big I loved everything about it but it was just too big and I didn't use the writing feature as much as I thought so I bought the kobo Clara Color and sold my libra color to my friend. so yes I've had 3 ereaders in 3 years but I now only have one and I love my kobo Clara color.
