It's so fascinating. My daughter was born like this. When I was pregnant with her, they just labeled her parts as ambiguous. She is genetically a female and her actual condition is called Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. I love educating people about it, but some people do get weirded out. Absolutely love the way you speak about all of this because like you said, everybody is beautiful and unique!

I really hope she’s reading the comments and can see that most, if not all, of the questions are primarily for genuine interest in understanding someone different from ourselves, and what we know and have been educated on up to this point in our lives. Just a bunch of strangers supporting her by asking questions to educate themselves and others. I appreciate her allowing you to share this experience with us. 🫶🏼

I am SO glad you got permission and she was willing to let you talk about it. I saw so many comments on the previous post about how unprofessional it was but I don’t think people understand that a lot of intersex people want these conversations to be had. They want their identities and differences to be highlighted so there’s less of a stigma. It would be different if you came across as judgmental but you have been nothing but kind and supportive. The solution regarding things like normalization of intersexuality is absolutely not to ignore and avoid conversations about it. I’m happy you shared your experience

I met someone just like this when I was 12. Her mom gave her a genre neutral name so that she could choose what she wanted to be called. She was open about it but not all the people were nice about it back then. I think it’s great people are being way more open about it. It definitely changed my eyes.

I’m glad her parents let her be herself and chose her own path in life. I’ve heard about some parents making the decision for their child at birth. She is most definitely a unicorn. 🦄 God gave her everything and then some ❤️
