Had a patient on our first meeting say “you can’t be my hygienist because my hygienist is white, and you aren’t white!” Now dealing with “I only wanna see the black hygienist because I can’t understand the Spanish ones”.. the stuff people say!

One day I had to tell one that “ oh you one of them “ and I dismissed her and asked the office to never put her with me anymore. They dismissed her from the office generally.

My office has a black doctor and we had a patient come in who usually sees another provider and my doctor was the only one working that day she went off and didn’t want her cleaning because she didn’t want a “black person in her mouth or doing her exam or telling her anything about her teeth” she was dismissed from the practice…

I had this issue the last 2 days temping in a primarily yt serving office. All of the pts there were only yt. Most of the pts were given a warning before they came back and they tried to act comfortable, but a few of them were difficult and rude towards me😏
