@chrisbaryomunsi: Discharge of the last Ebola Survivor at Mulago National Public Health Emergency Operations Centre. Together with WHO's Dr.Mwinga Kasonde,I have handed over a certificate of Recovery to the last Ebola survivor. The unit received 18 Ebola patients and of these ,one died while 18 survived. The total number of cases recorded in Uganda since May out break is 20 and of these 18 have fully recovered ,while 2 died. 0f the 2O cases: 15 were Congolese Nationals ; while 05 were Ugandans and particularly ,health professionals who were treating the imported Congolese Cases. We thank Preseident Museveni for his efforts, especially taking a tough decision to call of the 3rd June Uganda Martyrs celebrations that most likely, would skyrocket Ebola Virus Disease(EVD) cases. Bundibugyo EVD is caused by a highly dangerous biosafety Level 4 Pathogen classified within the Filoviridae family. The virus was first identified in an Outbreak in Bundibugyo in 2007-2008;with fatality rates of 25-36%
