In this video I break down two simple labs I look at first: ☀️ Vitamin D – It’s not just about having enough. Vitamin D has to bind to the vitamin D receptor (VDR) to switch on the genes it’s designed to regulate. Genetics and other factors can influence how effectively that signalling works. 🩸 Fasting insulin – I like to see it around 2–5 µIU/mL. As insulin resistance develops, testosterone commonly declines, and the risk increases as men age. Too many men are told their decline is inevitable. I don’t buy it. I believe in doing the detective work first—using symptoms, labs, DNA, and your biology to uncover what’s creating metabolic drag before jumping to a lifetime solution. Your testosterone is a signal. I’ve had low T comparable to guys my age for years. Dad had low t when he got married to my mum. At 19, my test ranked a 6, “normal” range being 5 - 26. Got tested again at 23, was a 7. Just got recently tested, at 24, having 215 free test.
