Артём fun fact: Graham’s number is one of the largest finite numbers ever to appear in a serious mathematical proof. It was introduced as an upper bound for a problem in Ramsey theory in the 1970s. To get a feel for how fast it grows: * 3^3 = 27 * 3^{27} \approx 7.6 \times 10^{12} * 3 \uparrow\uparrow 3 = 3^{3^3} = 3^{27} * 3 \uparrow\uparrow\uparrow 3 is unimaginably larger. * Graham’s number starts with 3 \uparrow\uparrow\uparrow\uparrow 3, then uses the result to define an even more enormous expression, repeating this process 64 times. A few remarkable facts: * It is finite—not infinity. * It is so large that there is not enough space in the observable universe to write all of its digits, even if every digit occupied the smallest physically meaningful unit of space. * Despite its size, mathematicians can still determine certain properties of it. For example, its last 10 digits are: Interestingly, Graham’s number is not the largest number mathematicians have defined. Other numbers such as TREE(3) and Rayo’s number are vastly larger. If you’d like, I can also explain Knuth’s up-arrow notation step by step, which is the key to understanding how Graham’s number is constructed. #fakesituation #fictional #tcc #faketcc #osmantus
