Inside the grand Main Hall, you are greeted by 4.5-meter tall and 30-ton Shakyamuni Buddha carved from solid jade by Myanmar artisans, guarded by Manjushri and Samantabhadra Bodhisattvas. But what truly sets this monastery apart is its replica of the Four Sacred Sites of Buddhism, built to a precise 6 to 10 scale. This 31-meter white temple tower recreates Bodh Gaya in India. Inside its walls is a second, smaller granite statue of the Buddha, dedicated purely to the moment of his ultimate enlightenment. Surrounding it, you can explore Lumbini Garden, where the Buddha was born; Sarnath’s Deer Park, where he gave his first sermon; and Kushinara, where he passed into Nirvana.
