@crimereportworldwide: 🚨 CANNABIS GROWER WHO SHOT CANNABIS BURGLAR JAILED FOR LIFE 🚨 A 61-year-old man who shot and killed an intruder during a raid on his cannabis grow has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years. Leeds Crown Court heard that Adrian Frost fatally shot 26-year-old Connor Batty with an illegally held sawn-off shotgun after Batty and two other men forced their way into Frost’s property in Hemsworth in September 2025. Prosecutors said the group had targeted Frost’s cannabis operation. Batty was carrying an imitation handgun, while the others were armed with a pickaxe handle and garden shears. Rather than calling police after retreating inside, Frost armed himself with the shotgun he kept beside his bed. When the back door was kicked in, he fired through the stair bannisters from close range, striking Batty in the chest. Investigators later uncovered a large cannabis grow along with an arsenal of illegal weapons, including machetes, a samurai sword, knuckle dusters, an illegal air rifle and more than 500 rounds of ammunition. The court also heard that after the shooting Frost sent a photograph of the fatally wounded Batty to his brother and was captured on CCTV making remarks about him before eventually calling 999. Frost denied murder, claiming he acted in self-defence, but a jury unanimously rejected that defence and found him guilty. He had already admitted firearms, drugs and other related offences. Batty’s two accomplices were previously jailed for their roles in the attempted burglary. 📌 What do you think?
