as someone who's been SA'D multiple times, the books were not grape at all. they were actually my comfort books. I will say the second book is very triggering which is why I took a break from it. if it bothers you that much, don't read them

Honestly this whole backlash is crazy. There are so many things out there that “romanticize” any form of abuse. Movies TV shows SONGS! Love the way you lie? That song was a hit as well as its music video I was 8-9 years old watching that and my “easily” impressionable mind never thought it was normal or okay? Shouldn’t have been watching it and neither should these children under 18 be watching the movie either. “Men will think it’s okay” Actually totally sane men absolutely WILL NOT think that shits okay because they know there are actual men out there already that are sick in the head and don’t need a movie to bring that out in them because it’s already there? Obsession is literally about a man wishing for his girl best friend to lose all her free will because he wants her to be in love with him and that movie is an absolute hit?

It’s not abt the books, no one reads anymore; if it’s a movie it will get sm more attention and that’s not good bc it’s not like it’s a amazing love story it’s traumatic and scary, it shouldn’t be made into a movie, why is that so hard to understand, this fan base is so odd, and it’s not a healthy “coping mechanism”
