So from what I've heard, part of the reason they didn't go forward with a proper Eleanor/Tahani coupling, or at least why we didn't get to see the reboot where they were soulmates, was partially due to Jameela being in the closet about her bisexuality. She didn't want to indaverntly be outed while her career was barely beginning for fear it would hurt future casting possibilities and I'm so sad she felt she needed to hide herself 😭
