@suzbub: Literally the most irritating remark. Herpes or any STI for that matter doesn’t say anything about your habits, patterns or body count. You can get an STI with your first partner, or after very few. You can get one being “careful”, using protection, and getting regular screenings. You can even get one non-s*xually. People who assume this are too dumb to understand how s*xual health actually works. And even so, we don’t demonize many partners or s*xual exploration. It’s human, and so are the benign things it can come with — like STIs. #herpes #hsv #herpesstigma

Genuinely frustrating when people call you a hoe when you were in fact “careful” or took all “precautions” and did everything you were “supposed to”. Even then the stigma around HSV-2 is ridiculous. It’s way more common than people realize and not something to be ashamed about. People need to do their research before criticizing people for something that’s normal and can happen to anyone.
