@uplink_africa: 🌍 Côte d'Ivoire is proving that Africa can finance Africa's energy transition. Backed by African institutions, the country's first project-finance green bond will fund a 66 MW solar plant expected to power more than 100,000 homes while avoiding over 72,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. It's also the first energy project-finance green bond across the WAEMU region, creating a new model for financing renewable infrastructure on the continent. With Côte d'Ivoire targeting 45% renewable energy by 2030, this could be a blueprint for future projects across Africa.
