In South Korea, guardrails are lined with rollers to keep the vehicle's momentum instead of spearing it and stopping it abruptly

A concrete guardrail killed my good friend in high school. He was only 16😞 took half his head/face off, but his mom still had an open casket. They rebuilt half his face with wax and put a see through veil draped over the coffin. I’ll never forget his mom’s face/cries or seeing my friend’s face that no longer looked like his face. RIP Brian.

Years ago as a firefighter I went to an accident scene where a sedan hit one of those head on and the lady driver had that impaled right through her.

For the people saying to simply not crash into them: If someone hits you from the side and causes you to veer to the right, DEAD. If you swerve to try to avoid an accident and fail to see the guard rail, DEAD. If your tire pops and your car loses control towards this thing, DEAD. Guard rails are in place in case of accidents but sometimes our own engineering becomes outdated for a reason.

Worked for a company that repaired those, and Im telling you right now, they will sit their damaged for WEEKS. Because the state doesnt repair them. They contract private companies to repair them after the state installs them.

I wish the country was focused on solving simple problems like this instead of all the extra crap we don't need, I just want to live safe but some states entirely decided to "spite" Biden when he was president by denying the relief checks for city infrastructure which was thousands of free American dollars to fix and maintain bridges, why are humans like this?
