@naomibrianiee: Struggling with movement in my ankle, I don’t think the heat is helping the swelling which then causes even more loss of movement. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated 🥰 #ankleinjury #anklesurgerytips #brokenankle #brokenbone #orifsurgeryrecovery
at a whopping -2° right now guys 😭😭😭 after a month of physio ( for reference 0° is like ur ankle at 90°)

I also found doing the exercises in a pool helped a lot. I seemed to be able to take a bit more stretch and the post standing exercises in the pool were followed by a swim which was great for all round fitness improvement 🏊🏻♀️

Hey fellow ankle warrior.. I totally get you. Its been one year after ORIF and physio discharged me saying my Dorsiflexon will be limited forever.
But absolutely not giving up, keep doing the rehab exercises, especially knee to wall and the ones using bands. I had posted mine on my page if you wanna have a look. Just keep going at your pace, we will get there. 💪💪

Repetition! I know how hard that is to hear and do but it will pay off! And yes going to the swimming pool as long as your cleared to do so. Even if you can’t swim you can practice walking and doing your exercises in the water as it adds an antigravity effect so may help.

Hi, when did you have surgery? I had screws and plate in mine after a break early in March and I’ve not any physio. Got discharged April 22nd I’ve been fine since. It does swell some days though but in general I’ve been fine

Hey 👋🏼. Fellow ankle breaker here. As someone who’s got through non-weight bearing, weight bearing, boot, trainer, and getting back to normal, I finally spoke to the surgeon, and I’ve had to go through eight weeks of serial casting. Not to project on you, but I can’t stress enough. Be as vocal as you can with your specialists. Especially if you feel a physical stop or can’t even push it any further.

I’m 8 weeks post surgery as well. I had to have my whole ankle reconstructed 😳. I just tarted PT and i try to walk as much as I can. I’m in a brace and 6 weeks ahead of schedule according to my doctor. The movement has helped me so much! It gets tight and uncomfortable towards the end of the day but i really do think the more i moved the better it’s getting. But in the end, everyone’s body is so different and heals differently
