@andreabocellifoundation: "On Monday, 20 July, we will mark the opening of the first ABF Global Gathering, a global community initiative we have been dreaming about for a long time, and one that is particularly close to our hearts. More than 160 children and young people, accompanied by their educators and teachers, will come together for the Global Gathering from Uganda, the Holy Land, Haiti, Camerino, and Naples’ Rione Sanità. Together, they will spend ten days between Tuscany and Rome, taking part in choir rehearsals and workshops, sharing everyday life, and learning to listen to one another, the first strength of every choir, in music as in life. For many of the children and young people, this will be their first journey far from home and their first encounter with different languages and cultures. Their journey will take them to the stage of the Teatro del Silenzio, where we will sing side by side, before continuing to Rome for a visit to the Senate of the Republic and a meeting with Pope Leo XIV, to whom the young choristers will offer the Canticle of Peace. Every voice carries a story, and every young person carries a hope. When voices from such different places and experiences come together, something is created that goes far beyond music: they begin to recognise one another, to listen to one another, and to discover that they belong to a larger community. As our Foundation celebrates its fifteenth anniversary, these young people express, more clearly than any report or set of figures ever could, what has inspired our work from the very beginning: the belief that education opens doors to the future, and that music is a universal language capable of bringing people together."
