This is one of my go-to spots for Japanese souffle pancakes in Melbourne! @Adozen Adozen has locations on Queensberry Street in Carlton and Hardware Lane in the Melbourne CBD. They specialise in Japanese souffle pancakes which are made completely fresh to order from scratch. Unlike regular pancakes, the batter is folded with whipped egg whites which creates that signature airy, cloud like texture and height. They’re much lighter and softer than your typical pancake and have that famous jiggle when served. I was so intrigued watching the process knowing there’s no pre batching involved at all, everything is made start to finish as you order. So you can expect a short wait time of around 15-20 minutes at least. ✔️ “White Choc Strawberry” - white chocolate whipped cream, strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries. Tasted exactly like the strawberry ice cream from the Original Peters Neapolitan tubs in the best way possible. ✔️ “Honey & Butter” - caramelised banana, butter, Weet-Bix, honey. First time I’ve seen Weet-Bix used as a crunchy element and it was actually so clever. ✔️ Yuzu Cheesecake - super creamy with the citrus helping cut through the sweetness nicely. ✔️ Strawberry matcha ✔️ Peach cold brew The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and well balanced without being overly sweet, with most of the sweetness coming from the toppings themselves. They also had none of the overly eggy flavour or aroma that souffle pancakes can sometimes have when they’re not executed properly. I also love that they’re constantly rotating and introducing new flavours, so there’s always an excuse to come back! (Paid invite)
