I was pretty clued in for the most part but what took me by surprise was the unspoken privileges that other people have and how far that gets them ahead without anyone really realizing it. not talking about money or good looks - talking about things like family support, regular connections, being very likeable, being EXTROVERTED (heavy on extroversion privilege), having someone guide you, being able to drink alcohol (huge connections requirement pre-social media), etc etc. the average person has zero clue how lucky and blessed they are
