The person telling you ownership is bad and renting is better, happens to have rentals and owns a primary home.

Nope! Renting is better as a short term solution. Long term, ownership will always trump renting.

if I bought a house 20 years ago, my mortgage would be like 1300 a month. instead I paid rent and paid off someone else's mortgage. my cost to rent increased every year until I bought a home. now while rent prices are going up my mortgage is cheaper than what someone renting would pay

When I retire I am selling the house and renting. House money goes into a portfolio to pay for the rent and still have extra cash. No property taxes, repairs, etc.

I always assumed homeownership was sold to the average 9-5er. We rent our house. We own commercial property where we run our business. Way better ROI while actually making profit.

This doesn’t apply to everyone. Some people have mortgages cheaper than rent. So they get the appreciation and can have a stock portfolio.

The math only works when the mental matches. *most ppl aren’t going to use extra money for investing. Homeownership forces passive equity growth

Renting doesn’t give you an asset. Buy now and hold long term. With land scarcity + inflation you’ll be thankful you did.

As I comment on all your videos, show me the person in Vancouver who could’ve bought 30 years ago, but didn’t and rented instead and is somehow better off now.

There is still no silver bullet “owning is always better” or “renting is always better” it always depends on the location, time and type of housing
