i agree with the whitewashing take it WAS weird how pale everyone was, but it felt like she was expecting them to be violent and uncontrolled and that rubbed me the wrong way

Plus it would literally make zero sense for the tribes to start fighting each other for no reason when their common enemy is the abyss 😭 literally the reason why they don’t fight each other is because they only want to fight the abyss. You can definitely tell she’s a lore skipper.

Hot take, apperently... I think archon of war, trying to bring peace to their people, is a good concept. Being a god of war doesn't mean she has to make sure wars happen, it can mean she makes sure wars stop and won't repeat. Mavuika did her job pretty well when it comes to that, especially given how she's human, with limited power compared to other archons

"it doesn't even feel like war" and this is imo what makes this nation so well written. its the nation of war, because war is such a normalized thing in their life style and culture. they are looking forward to become soldiers and make battles of who gets to be choosen to fight, even little kids like kachina want to be a part of it. they treat war like a big cool event, and its a honor to take part even though it leaves many people traumatized (AQ were we help soldiers with PTSD). you ever wondered why the human enemies in Natland are just normal Natlanese people ( mercenaries and in liyue/inzuma thieves), thats because the people there LOVE to fight. its not something they view as a bad thing.

ppl forget that the whole reason she is even fighting a war is for the war to END 😭 even in real life when we see people who are praised as war strategists or good fighters, it is because they can put an END to it. no war hero is praised for letting it go on and on forever, they’re praised for making decisive and smart moves to END the war. if they were perpetually battling it wouldn’t make any damn sense 😭

literally the idea of war in natlan is they are constantly fighting the abyss in life or death situation, meanwhile other nation have it much easier, we literally see how brutal the war is with actual npcs dying in like 4.1 (or 4.2 i dont remember) 😭

As someone from latam the reason why I personally expected it to be violent was because it’s a nation of war, it could’ve been inspired off literally any other culture and I still would’ve wanted it to be more war-esque

Exactly. They continue to say that Natlan wasn’t a nation of war like it said…UM YOU LITERALLY FIGHT A WAR AGAINST YHE ABYSS. Being a nation of war doesn’t always mean internal war, war is mainly external. Nation against nation. If anything, I thought Natlan was going to be an enemy nation to a neighboring nation, or—as expected—fighting the abyss. The only good reason for think it may not give the VIBE is that it’s too colorful but I kind of enjoy that aspect since it contrasts and feels eerie when you are slowly seeing peopl die during the war.
