another one, AP CLASSES ARE NOT LIKE GIFTED CLASSES 😭 you will want to die. me + so many of the gifted kids in my middle school all signed up for APs immediately into sophomore year and it wa HELL HELL HELL HELL HELL HELL HELL OHHHH MY GGODDDDD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 and guidance counselors are super pushy about keeping ppl in APs bc it makes ur school look good and long story short i got roped into taking 6 AP classes this upcoming year. AS AN UPPERCLASSMEN FRIENDS WITH YOUNG STUDENTS. a lot of my connections are through marching band. If an upperclassman does approach you and say nobody’s friends with them- do not befriend them. I have many friends across all grades- but I hear horror stories of the pregnant freshman.

mental health is also important. yes, it will be stressful, it will be hard, but it is so important to have methods and outlets. my freshman year was horrible in terms of my mental health- academically i pulled through. but an a in your hardest class is not worth scratches on your wrist. I promise you. people in my grade were leaving left and right for psychiatric hospitals. please guys. don't let it get to you- talk to people when you need help, and it's ok to be vulnerable.
