I find it poignant that THIS is the first time we have seen someone comfort Lestat during his anxiety. And it’s Louis. First episode when he has that overdose and he asks Dee and Daniel what to do they ignore him. He has to beg Gabriella to come and also as to have sex with her to get her to take care of him. He has that breakdown on stage and the band just watches him struggle and kept going. The whole going out into the sun to get the right scream for the song thing. They actually help him burn himself to a crisp. He’s really been alone this whole time. Having to pick himself up again and again. Watching him make his way over to the wall so that he can keep himself from falling all the while having the WORST panic attacks yet and Louis just grabs him and holds him. You can see when Lestat realizes that Louis won’t let him fall. And he lets go of the wall to grab onto Louis instead. It’s beautiful and incredibly sad. Amazing acting from Adam and Jacob.

I think people who are starving for a Loustat kiss (while I agree it would be great to see) are missing the point that it is so integral to their relationship that his relationship with Louis is currently/becomes genuine love and not s*xual transaction like his other relationships. Louis not attempting to do anything physical with Lestat and Lestat simply seeking out comfort from Louis is incredibly important to Lestat’s healing and bodily autonomy. I think it also will make them healthier. I think he has always seen Louis in a higher light, as something pure, (see how he refers to him as “Saint Louis” despite his own religious traumas) but because of Gabi, Magnus, and others he felt like he needs to give something (usually s*x) in order to be loved. Louis is currently the only person to want to take Lestat at his core, and hopefully have him change for the better, and not just intimacy and leave.

This break down puts into perspective all the other times in iwtv when Louis was the narrator. To me, Louis most of the time made Lestat seem like just a crazy french man with a horrible temperament, which to be fair might also be true. But I wonder how many of those times was Lestat really breaking down and Louis was just too angry and tired of him that he just brushed them off as Lestat being loud and dramatic??

ok I havent seen anyone else saying this but does anyone else think sometimes when lestat is repeating "I offer you" it sounds like he's saying "I love you" and when louis is saying "it's alright" it sounds like he's saying "I'm sorry? "

Go watch the brutal love scene and watch the color grading. Lestat shines bright gold and gabriella barely reflects that light back, but louis? Louis is completely enveloped in it. He is wholly loved by lestat. Not even sofia can compare to how he loves louis.

i feel for lestat here because you would think louis would be more open to listening but he instead virtually blames him for sa. of course louis doesn’t know how neglectful and narcissistic gabrielle is, but after everything you would think louis would learn to hear people out
