this song is for the ones who want a love so real they don’t have to keep looking anywhere else. it’s called DREAM LIFE by PRSH+LOVE I think there’s something beautiful about the idea behind this because when you’re genuinely in love with somebody, your attention really can shift. You can obviously still recognize that other attractive people exist—you don’t suddenly lose your eyesight because you entered a relationship. 😭 But recognizing somebody is attractive and actually being interested in them are two completely different things. There’s a difference between noticing someone for two seconds and wondering what it would be like to date them, entertaining their attention, keeping your options open, flirting because you like the validation, or maintaining little backup connections in case your current relationship doesn’t work out. When you’re deeply committed to someone, ideally you stop living with one foot outside the door. You aren’t constantly scanning the room wondering whether somebody better might appear because you’ve already made a choice about where you want to invest your heart. At the same time, I don’t think a fleeting attraction automatically proves someone isn’t in love. Human beings are still human. You might occasionally notice chemistry or feel an involuntary attraction without choosing it, and commitment is partly about what you do with those feelings. Do you feed them? Do you create opportunities to get closer to that person? Do you hide interactions from your partner? Or do you recognize the feeling, maintain appropriate boundaries, and continue choosing the relationship you’ve built? That’s where love becomes more than an emotion. It’s also loyalty, discipline, and intention. And I think that’s probably the deeper truth in this quote: when you genuinely value what you have, you’re not constantly searching for replacements. You don’t need attention from five other people to reassure yourself that you’re desirable. You don’t keep somebody waiting in the background “just in case.” You protect the relationship even when your partner isn’t around to see you doing it. Because eventually love isn’t about never noticing another human being again. It’s about meeting thousands of people throughout your life and continuing to know exactly which one you want to come home to.
