It’s not rude, it’s REAL!!! So many “artists” are over charging and it’s insane. I had a client come in the other month with a palm size tattoo that she said she paid $800 for. A very mediocre tattoo mind you.

And they take their time I had a client show me floral on their thigh that was okay and they told me their artist charged them $900, I couldn't believe it. Three medium sized flowers should be no where near that and they were an aprentice. I'm only 3 years in and I'm still struggling leaning what is fair for me to charge but Id rather under charge than over

Every time I hear people complaining about tattoo prices I realize how lucky I am to be closely related to a professional tattoo artist cause he’s doing a full leg sleeve on me rn for $500 lmao

First 6 tattoos where local and on the cheaper side $300 -$500 and wanted better work found a new artist at the time about 2 hours away doing full sessions for all day $1200 and you defiantly get what you pay for 😂🤷🏽♂️wish i would of did my homework in the beginning

I have a lot of “cheap” tattoos that were in the $200-$300 range. I also have a sleeve that has $10,000 invested and isn’t done. The difference in art quality is extremely apparent. I don’t mind paying a premium for the phenomenal art but I also still very much like my cheaper fun tattoos! They’re super special to me and are loved just as much as my expensive sleeve.

I’ve been stationed in South Korea, and I’m telling u I’ve been getting tatted up out here they do amazing work and they’re not cheap but not expensive u can get a good size piece well done for $250

And if I can add to what you’re saying, it also has a regional thing to it too because if you’re in a very low-cost place, the tattoo cost is gonna reflect. I’m in Monterey California. It’s a giant tourist destination. It’s very expensive to live here and often times we get told that we’re very expensive just because somebody’s used to getting tattooed in Royal Ohio.

there's a 70 year old biker dude around my area that does tattoos from a spare room in his house. He doesn't charge crazy prices but the work isn't insane. You get what you pay for. He's got a decent chunk of change from me
