@clearcreekadventureranch: This little boy has always been deathly afraid of heights. Today, he overcame it in a HUGE way!. That’s one of the biggest reasons Clear Creek Adventure Ranch exists. It’s easy to be afraid of something you’ve never experienced. I always tell kids that it’s okay to be scared. Being scared is normal. But there’s a big difference between scary and safe and scary and dangerous. Scary dangerous is climbing a rock wall with no rope, no harness, and no safety equipment. Scary safe is climbing that same wall while wearing a properly harness, using the right safety gear, and having trained adults there to help. You might still feel scared, but you’re safe. Growth happens when we step just outside our comfort zone. The more we learn about something, the less fear it usually holds over us. That’s true for heights, animals, reading, trying new things, or almost anything else in life. Confidence isn’t built by never being afraid. It’s built one brave step at a time.
