@bigbrotherwatchhq: The government says “we have decided not to limit VPNs” 🎉 This is a huge win for everyone that has spoken out against proposals to limit VPNs. But more censorship threats loom... Good news. Without VPNs how will people under west European regimes watch media from outside their fortress like RT?

The government seem to think our human rights are an obstacle to get around rather than a boundary that must be respected. They are wrong and we need to make it unavoidably clear that they are wrong.

The decision about restrictions on social media access should be made by the parents or guardians who bought the phone (or computer) not the government

its just about control at this point you'll notice all the people backing these just want control and to know where people are what they post who they post how they post and what medie you get shown so you know what they want you to know or even if teens are 16 and 17 basically an adult at 17 yet we almost couldn't define our own life maybe teach more about the dangers of social media instead of going for control and lack of privacy

they'll try again, but they'll reword it to make the public the bad guys for trying to reject it, that's how the OSA got passed, that's how the social media ban got passed.

Anyone thinking we’ve won on the VPN issue is stupid, they’ve just found a better way to achieve their goals where having a VPN won’t even matter, mark my words.

The fact that the government is pulling things that the majority of the population is against is absurd. All these online restrictions they’re adding are purely surveillance systems.

So basically what they are saying is we wanna protect the child but not really 😂. So your letting VPNs which bypass the safety you claim to want. So basically do what we all want, let parents do their job and teach and keep the kids safe and stop punishing everyone

I have a feeling they found out you cannot really block vpns there will always be a way to make them work instead of cancelling it for the citizens

They didn't back off because of the people, they probably backed off because big businesses told them they need VPNs

we didn't win . what they found out is that almost every company with sensitive data requires employees to use vpns and how much money businesses would loose. was still a stupid idea in the first place but let's not pretend they considered private citizens privacy at all in this
