@journeyforjasmine: Shauna dreamed of becoming a mother. After a previous miscarriage, she and her husband were overjoyed when they became pregnant again before their wedding. But on August 8, 2023, their first ultrasound revealed there was no heartbeat. Just weeks later, they were married while quietly carrying the weight of another devastating loss. Four months later, Shauna's husband was diagnosed with stage three cancer at just 38 years old. Before beginning chemotherapy and radiation, they had only three days to bank sperm before treatment, knowing it could cause infertility. In June 2024, Shauna began IVF. Fourteen eggs were retrieved, eight fertilized, and five embryos were sent for PGT testing. Every embryo was aneuploid, and none were viable for transfer. The heartbreak took an enormous emotional toll on their entire family. On August 8, 2024, exactly one year after learning they had lost their baby, her husband's cancer treatments ended. Just days later, after deciding to stop pursuing IVF, Shauna took a pregnancy test and, against all odds, it was positive. Despite months of fear and uncertainty, every appointment brought more hope. Today, Shauna and her husband have welcomed their rainbow baby son, Hunter Scott, into the world. Read more of her story and learn how to share your story at the link in my bio.
