Work accident I basically tore half of my foot off. Instead of amputation I chose Mid foot fusion and amputation of 2 toes. Regret not amputating every day. In a lot of pain, multiple surgical revisions and it’s a lot harder to get them to approve amputation after. You made the right choice believe me!!

TWO YEARS??? Yeah hell no. I don’t think people realize you can’t just…not walk for two years and be fine after. I couldn’t walk for 7 weeks and that was already awful to come back from. At 2 years idk how you’d ever get it back!! Definitely the right choice. Would’ve done the same thing.

As her mother I gave her the choice of what she wants after the doctor explained it and she truly picked the best option ever!! She’s not only the strongest woman ever she has an amazing sense of humor with it!! I’m truly blessed to be here mother!!

people who are arguing are not understanding the difference between healing from a highly traumatic injury vs healing from a controlled surgery. Keeping the limb is not always the better option, and generally speaking, if a Dr is giving you the option of amputation, there's a very very good reason
