we used to have factory jobs in the US btw but outsourcing took those jobs. now a lot of white collar jobs are dying due to ai automation. long story short the jobs just aren't there anymore

I got rejected from an over the phone customer service position after over a decade of customer service experience in all sorts of fields including scout camp because "it seems like you like to be hands on and this won't be fulfilling for you". I was trying to transition to a position where I could sit for my shift because I have a disability (didn't disclose that)

I've been able to develop my career through sheer luck and connections; even still corporate will always try to justify not giving annual raises as the cost of living continues to skyrocket
